Mina

“Doris! Where have you and Quatre been all day?” I yelled as she walked up to me. She was too busy wheezing to notice the fear in my voice. I was really worried about the ditz for the first time since I met her, even though it hit me hard, I struggled not to let it show. “You.....DORK! Are you aware of what is going on here?! You could have gotten yourself killed!” She stood there, surprised by my reaction to her lateness. The fighting suits came closer, and that’s when I knew we had to split up. We all jumped the gate, except Doris- who had to be thrown (literally) by Quatre. She was afraid to jump, and she was still in her school uniform- SO I think you get the point. Wuss..... After that, we all took off, running different directions spreading out over the school. I knew that was the last time I would see any of them, Doris’s stupid jokes and Sean’s wide (and yet disturbing) grin. This was the last time Hayley would mess with me- the school will blow up and I didn’t plan on living through the blast either.

I ran into my room and looked around. It was a mess, due to Abbey’s fit of yelling. (This morning supposedly, Duo told her that I could out cook her- so that triggered it.) Clothes and numerous dishes were thrown around, I walked calmly over to my bed and shoved the pile of stuff to the floor. I need to get my weapons- No way am I going to face her unprepared. I kneeled down and pulled out a bag. I unzipped it and reached inside. I felt the handle- it was so cold, I almost dropped it. Woah. I placed it in the holster under my jacket. The suits battling outside shook the school, I had to hurry up- So I ran out my door and down the hall. It was so packed, all of the kids seemed to be running the opposite way I was. They were yelling and shoving each other, I knew they were scared. “Mina!” I turned around to see Sean running at me. He had this look on his face like I was crazy. “Mina, I hate to ask, but...WHY IN THE HELL AREN’T YOU RUNNING THE OTHER WAY?!” Well- the usually calm and collective mask of Sean ripped off, he turned me around, he was holding on to my shoulders- shaking them lightly. “The others might not get this chance to say good bye to you, So I don’t want to blow it.” He smiled somewhat and hugged me. I could feel him shaking, he was scared too. I looked up and gently pushed away from him. “Sean- you’ll make it. Don’t worry- I have to go.” I quickly turned around and continued on my path to the stairs. “Bye, Sean. It was fun. Tell the others good bye for me.” I waved back at him, he tried to follow me, but he was soon caught up in the sea of kids.

The hall’s number of kids soon decreased- I had enough room to check the bomb I planted in my locker. It was good to go, now all I had to do was get Hayley- and it would be over. I laughed to myself. I planted the detonator on Sean. Well, he’ll be finding it soon. I am just too good. My heart pounded as I pressed on. I came to the door that lead to the roof. With a sigh, I opened it. The bright sun blinded me for a second, I covered up my eyes just in time to hear a gunshot. “Mina! What are you doing here-“ Adam came up behind me, I regained my sight and before I could say anything, he slumped over in my arms. The bullet Hayley fired at me hit Adam right in the back. He coughed, blood coming out of his mouth. “M-Mina...I wanted to try to get you out.. Of here...” He was struggling to breathe, I set him down. “Adam....” He didn’t speak any more after that. His eyes closed slowly, and while doing so, he took his last breath. I looked down at his life-less body and wailed. “Hayley! Why?” I laid him down and ran at her. She grinned again- that  ignoble smile that I remember seeing so many times. My fingers tightened around her neck, my nails digging into her warm flesh. “I’ll KILL you!” She struggled against me and slammed me hard against a wall. I felt a sharp pain in my ribs, it took me a while to realize she stabbed me. I looked down and put my hand over the wound. Sean- damnit. Push the button!! Push the button now!! The school quaked underneath our feet. He must have pushed it. With a yell, Hayley dove at me. I took a couple of steps back, and soon lost my balance. Hayley and I sailed over the edge as the school blew up. “Ahhh!!” We both struggled as we fell. I remembered the gun at my side and pulled it out. Her eyes widened. “You wouldn’t dare.” With a quick movement, I pushed the barrel up to her head and pulled the trigger. That’s when I hit the ground.
