“What?! I can’t! I have to help! My friends are in trouble and you want me to just sit here!”
“Stay here. I don’t want you to get hurt, and if you come with me that’s just what will happen. I don’t have time to argue with you about it right now.” He turned to leave, but I grabbed him by the arm and turned him around.
“Now you listen to me- I know I’m not pimpin’ like Mina when it comes to things like this, but when worse comes to worse I can help! I have to be good for something... and if it can’t be for helping my friends when they need me, then I have no right having friends in the first place!” I looked into his eyes to try and read his reaction. Wow, that was a pretty good speech I just made. He’d better let me come- or else I’ll just go by myself.
“Okay, okay- you can come. But just be careful okay?”
“No- I was going to be dangerous! Now let’s get a move on!” We ran against the waves of individuals that were fleeing from the school, which slowed our progress to a halt. “Quatre! This isn’t getting us very far! What are we supposed to do now?” I looked around for him, but I couldn’t see him anywhere. “Quatre!! Where are you?!” Was this intentional? I know he didn’t want me to come- but leaving me alone is just about the stupidest thing he could have done. I continue my struggle to gain ground, knowing that I’m alone in it. I finally made it to the stairs. I never knew there where so many kids in this stupid school- you’d think that they’d all jumped out the window or something if there were so many. I made my way through a few of the halls rounding up stragglers to get them out. Just then I heard a gunshot which made the few people that were with me panic. I tried to calm them- but they ended up running in every direction. Then I realized- gunshot equals someone getting shot which equals them dying. Oh God- what if it was Duo? No- Duo would be the one firing the gun- in that case everyone would be fine. What if it was Mina? Oh no, not Mina. She would take the bullet just to show how tough she is. But she’s NOT made of steel damn it! Tears started to well up in my eyes at the thought of losing someone that I care about. What if it was Quatre? I knew I should have kept a close eye on him in the hall! Shit! Instead of chasing after the idiots that ran in the wrong direction, I ran to the front doors. I was slightly relieved to see Quatre running towards them as well. “You ass! Why did you leave me?!” I yelled as we ran outside together.
“I thought you were right behind me. Then I turned around and you weren’t there.”
“Likely excuse. By the way, where exactly are we running?”
“Well the parking lot is the designated gathering place for emergencies- hopefully everyone will be there.” We ran all the way to the parking lot and noticed that the crowd of people standing there was dreadfully small. “Doris- Did you happen to hear a shot while we were in the school?”
“Yeah. I was just about to ask you the same thing. You don’t think it could have been...” He lowered his head and I didn’t have the heart to finish. Suddenly without warning a huge explosion erupted from the school. “Oh my God! Mina! Oh please let her be okay!” I caught a glance of a girl younger than me sitting down clutching her knee. She had cut it pretty badly. I walked over to her. “Do you need some help? Your knee looks pretty bad.” She looked up at me and nodded here head. “Quatre come here and help me.” I tore a piece of my shirt sleeve off. “Hold her leg while I tie this around it.” Noah and Sean came walking up. They looked like they had just been having a dirt fight. I looked up at them expectantly. “Mina?” Sean turned his back to me, and Noah shook his head back and forth.
